The last couple of days were spent driving through Haugesund on our way to the oil town of Stavanger. Mom and I decided to stop in Haugesund because 1) we don't like sitting in cars for too long, and 2) there's the burial site of a Viking King! So of course we stopped and explored the countryside a little on the way to our next adventure. Stavanger was also really wonderful and we decided to stay here as a base to visit Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) in Lysefjord. We had a lot of fun taking in the scenery and posing for pictures :)
The first leg of my post-graduation trip has been with my wonderful mom in the fjords of Norway. Our first two nights we stayed in Bergen, which is nestled right in the middle of the Norwegian hills and fjords. Mom and I spent the last couple of days exploring city streets, hiking through some local trails, going to art museums, and visiting the city's aquarium. It's been a quick stay here in Bergen and we definitely both wish we could stay longer. However, we've had a wonderful time eating tons of seafood, talking with fellow travelers, and interacting with some of the friendliest locals we've ever met and are ready for our next adventure in Stavanger, Norway!
