When Mom came to visit me in London, we took a weekend to explore the adorable City of York. Despite me being a crabby teenager the entire time, we actually had a really great mother/daughter weekend exploring the city :) Shout-out to the best/most patient mom ever!
Venice was by far my favorite city that we visited over the summer. The tourist count is unfortunately correct, but as soon as you stepped off the main street you felt like you were in old world Italy. It was charming and friendly with amazing little shops and artists everywhere. We always felt safe and the food was beyond delicious (which, if you know anything about me, that is a pretty important part of the experience.)
To whomever said you can't see Rome in a day, I would like to inform you that we have proved you wrong. Despite poor planning on our part and some interesting road blocks, we had an absolutely incredible time exploring the city. Although we definitely did not see it all, and I would absolutely NOT recommend the one day itinerary plan, it was probably one of my most memorable experiences in Italy. Here's to next time Roma!
By far my favorite city in the world, London knows how to make you feel at home while introducing you to new things on a daily basis. What's not to love? Free museums, beautiful parks and gardens, pubs with people that love football and rugby more than you thought possible, incredible history and powerful architecture. London is the place to be and the definitely the best place to live.
